About The Position

The Developmental Specialist provides evaluation, assessment, intervention, and support services to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) with developmental delays or disabilities. Working within a family-centered model, this position partners with caregivers to promote development across all domains and enhance the child’s participation in daily routines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, psychology, social work, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of child development and early intervention practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, or children with developmental delays
  • Experience with IFSP development and Part C early intervention systems
  • Familiarity with routines-based intervention

Responsibilities

  • Conduct developmental evaluations, screenings, and ongoing assessments across developmental domains (cognitive, social-emotional, communication, adaptive, and motor)
  • Develop and implement individualized family service plans
  • Provide direct services in natural environments including the family home
  • Coach and educate families on strategies to support child development within daily routines and activities
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on data and child and family response
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with state and federal guidelines
  • Ensure services are culturally responsive and family centered
  • Provide translation services for families as needed within the early intervention program
