Requirements

• International students are not eligible participants.
• Post-secondary education in any Human Services related program is required.
• Have the ability to work in a team or in an independent environment.
• Be legally eligible to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
• Be between the ages of 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment.
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment.
• Meet all requirements set out under the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the vulnerable population.
• Valid driver's license and access to vehicle.
• Must provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.
• The ability to engage in all aspects of Safe Management and valid First Aid/CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support individuals with meeting the activities of daily living including personal hygiene, and life skills.
• Foster social interaction and inclusion among people supported, encouraging participation and building confidence.
• Document attendance, participation, reactions, and progress to ensure individualized care and support.
• Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and organizing documents.
• Work in a position of trust with the people supported.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as and when required.
