About The Position

SCR Mining and Tunnelling is seeking experienced and safety-focused Development Supervisors to join their underground mining operations team at Bissett, Manitoba. The successful candidates will supervise drilling and blasting, as well as work associated with drift development. This is a full-time role with a 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off Rotation. Camp accommodation and meals are provided.

Requirements

Minimum five (5) years of related supervisory experience in development mining
Strong understanding of safe work practices in mining operations
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Strong work ethic and commitment to safety and productivity
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application.
Employer sponsorship or work permit support is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

Ensuring your team follows all established policies, procedures, and best practices as well as industry specific regulations
Identifying unsafe conditions in underground headings
Overseeing the drilling of holes using hand-held pneumatic drills
Ensuring the installation of rock bolts is performed as per approved methods
Guiding the installation of other ground support components as required such as welded wire mesh and shotcrete
Supervising the installation or repair of mine services such as vent tubing and pipes using various lifting equipment such as scissor trucks chain blocks and hand tools
Coordinate day to day ground control requirements
Assess all excavations and supervise the installation of ground support in development or reconditioned areas as per plan and section as the development progresses
Keep track of all advances and communicate to superintendent and cross shifts footages and volumes
