About The Position

Team Up Mentoring seeks an outgoing, resourceful, and organized Development Specialist to play a critical role in Team Up’s ambitious fundraising and marketing efforts. The Development Specialist is part of the Development team, focusing on grants management, donor development, and campaign planning. 50% of the Development Specialist role is grant management and reporting. As a member of the Development Team, this position will assist with fundraising events and campaigns. Development responsibilities include assisting the department lead in executing fundraising plans, maintaining donor relationships, and securing new ones. The Development and Marketing Specialist will also coordinate with various business partners and organize events. Marketing responsibilities will include networking, capturing content, and collaborating with staff on marketing projects. The Development Specialist also heads up all volunteer management for the organization, recruiting volunteers and providing front-line communication with them. As the first point of contact for many volunteers, the Development Specialist must be a friendly and knowledgeable face of the organization, ready to help community members to plug into the organization. This position is ideal for an individual who is creative, personable, organized, professional and enjoys variety in their career with a strong desire to impact the lives of children and families affected by trauma.

Requirements

  • Completion of a 4-year degree. Preferably in a related field (Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, Nonprofit Management)
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with non-profits preferred
  • Experience utilizing Canva or other design tools and comfortable learning and working with new systems.
  • Experience working and collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Great interpersonal skills with donors, board members, potential partners, corporations, and foundations.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and proposing new ways of creating efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Aids and supports the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating all fundraising and marketing strategies for Team Up Mentoring.
  • Coordinates all volunteer activities related to mentoring and programming.
  • Execute development operations, including management of donor data, implementation of fundraising goals, and payment processing.
  • Steward potential and current donors utilizing Team Up’s Moves Management System
  • Communicating with and recognizing donors in strategic and meaningful ways
  • Prepare and submit monthly reimbursement requests for VOCA and ARPA Grants, using the IGX Portal
  • Coordinate with the CJCC Grant Monitor to ensure correct and timely reimbursements
  • Compile and submit quarterly VSSR reports using the appropriate portal
  • Prepare and submit monthly reimbursement requests for DFCS OST, using the provided Excel workbook and associated templates
  • Coordinate with the DFCS OST Grant Monitor to ensure correct and timely reimbursements
  • Ensure that all grant related requirements for staff and volunteers are complete, including Mandated Reporter and CPR trainings
  • Function as Team Lead for the DFCS Annual Desk Review
  • Assist with planning, organization, marketing, and execution of all fundraising events and campaigns
  • Serve as ‘2nd in command’ and may take over coordination responsibilities during Chief Strategy Officer’s absence
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to co-create donor experiences and materials that inspire donor affinity and giving
  • Attend nightly mentoring sessions, summer camp activities to capture compelling photo and video collateral for marketing needs
  • Attend marketing and networking events to help promote donor and volunteer opportunities with Team Up
  • Proactively market Team Up Mentoring's commercial event rental space to individuals, businesses, and community organizations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective renters by providing tours, responding to inquiries, coordinating reservations, processing rental agreements, and collecting payments.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure the rental space is clean, welcoming, and fully prepared for each event, and that it is promptly restored to its mentoring environment following use.
  • Maintain the rental calendar and communicate event schedules with staff to ensure seamless coordination and minimal disruption to programming.
