Caterpillar is hiring for a Development Research Technician in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will be an integral part of validating designs and software alongside the engineering community as we work to produce quality machines and work tools and resolve issues. And assist engineers in conducting technical investigations of current and future product, components, materials and processes both in laboratory and field environments.

Requirements

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy machinery experience
  • Experience in a mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in technically complex tear downs and assembly of components and equipment.
  • Experience in Re-process.
  • Experience with PD builds.
