About The Position

The Development Operations and Events Manager provides day-to-day operational support for Lines for Life’s Development Department. This position manages development calendars, donor stewardship workflows, fundraising event logistics, vendor coordination, donor communications, and project tracking systems that help the department operate effectively and consistently. Working closely with the Directors of Development, Communications, Finance, and program partners, this role helps ensure that donor engagement activities, fundraising events, acknowledgements, campaign timelines, and department operations are well-organized, timely, accurate, and aligned with Lines for Life’s mission to prevent substance abuse and suicide and promote mental wellness.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising support, event coordination, donor relations, project coordination, and communications.
  • Experience coordinating events, projects, campaigns, or other complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and details simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft professional correspondence, proofread materials, and collaborate effectively across departments and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, follow-through, and accuracy in recordkeeping, communications, and project tracking.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with donors, vendors, partners, volunteers, staff, and community members.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience using project management, donor databases, CRM, fundraising, events, or similar tracking systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential donor, financial, personnel, and organizational information with discretion.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, appropriately escalate sensitive issues, and adapt to shifting priorities, event needs, and department deadlines.
  • Comfort working with donor, event, financial, and campaign data.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for donor events, fundraising activities, or other Development Department needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, public administration, marketing, social sciences, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit development or fundraising environment.
  • Experience supporting fundraising events, donor stewardship, annual giving campaigns, sponsorships, or community engagement activities.
  • Experience using donor, fundraising, event management, CRM, or project management systems such as Greater Giving, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting development operations, including vendor coordination, event budgets, gift processing, sponsorship tracking, donor communications, or financial reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day Development Department operations, including calendars, project timelines, campaign deadlines, event milestones, follow-up lists, and Monday.com tracking.
  • Coordinate internal Development Department meetings, including agendas, notes, task assignments, and follow-up items.
  • Support the Director of Development in organizing department priorities, maintaining planning documents and timelines, tracking key projects, and ensuring timely follow-through on assigned tasks.
  • Support and improve consistent workflows across development operations, donor stewardship, campaigns, events, and reporting.
  • Coordinate donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgements, tax receipts, recognition, donor follow-up, and preparation of donor communications that are timely, accurate, professional, and aligned with Lines for Life's mission and values.
  • Support the Director of Development with preparation for donor meetings, donor briefings, stewardship touches, and follow-up tasks.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen donor retention, recognition, and ongoing engagement.
  • Lead logistical planning and execution for donor engagement and fundraising events, including UnGala Farm-to-Table dinners, the annual golf tournament, and other cultivation or stewardship events.
  • Coordinate event timelines, workplans, task lists, registration processes, guest communications, and post-event follow-up.
  • Research, coordinate, and manage event vendors and venues, including contract coordination, logistics, site visits, and onsite support.
  • Monitor event budgets, expenses, registrations, sponsorships, and financial documentation while coordinating with Finance on reconciliation, payments, and donor records.
  • Support post-event evaluation, including lessons learned, donor follow-up, sponsor recognition, and recommendations for future improvement.
  • Provide onsite or virtual event support, which may include occasional evening or weekend work.
  • Support Annual Fund and end-of-year campaign execution through coordination of timelines, donor lists, communications, mailings, and follow-up activities.
  • Assist with donor segmentation, campaign tracking, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with Communications to develop and execute donor-facing campaign materials and content.
  • Prepare campaign updates, reports, and post-campaign summaries.
  • Conduct donor, corporate sponsor, and community partner research to identify and support cultivation, stewardship, sponsorship, and engagement opportunities.
  • Support sponsorship activities, including preparation of sponsorship materials, sponsor recognition, follow-up, and maintenance of accurate records related to outreach, commitments, and benefits.
  • Support donor and sponsor cultivation efforts through pipeline tracking and coordination with program staff to gather stories, impact examples, and other donor engagement materials.
  • Work closely with Communications, Finance, and program teams to support accurate, timely, and mission-aligned development activities.
  • Coordinate with Communications to ensure donor-facing and event materials are clear, accurate, and consistent with organizational messaging.
  • Work with program leaders and staff to gather information needed for donor stewardship, events, and campaign support.
  • Represent the Development Department professionally in interactions with donors, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, community partners, and internal staff.
