About The Position

Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Development at Cal Poly Maritime, the Development Operations Analyst provides support for day-to-day operations for the development and alumni functions. This position will support CRM and database functions, including gift processing and producing reports for internal and external audiences. The incumbent will work across university divisions related to alumni, donors, and external constituents. The Development Operations Analyst can prioritize both day-to-day responsibilities and long-term projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of general administrative practices, program operations, and/or administrative specialty areas; basic knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts and methods.
  • Ability to learn, interpret, communicate, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, and/or administrative specialty, including University infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis; ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately, draw sound conclusions, develop recommendations, and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment with multiple data sources, data definitions, and processes for obtaining data; working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn University-specific database programs (e.g., Blackbaud RENXT) and other information systems.
  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university.
  • One year of technical or administrative experience.
  • Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
  • The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

  • A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
  • Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
