About The Position

As a Development Manager, you'll play a key role in Coveo's newly organized Product Engineering structure, helping our Explore organization deliver the next generation of AI-powered search and recommendation capabilities. We build the intelligent discovery experiences that millions of people use every day - from search and recommendations to conversational AI and personalized experiences across commerce, service, websites, and AI agents. You’ll lead teams solving challenging problems in AI, search, and user experience while delivering products that have a direct, measurable impact on how people find information and get things done.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Development Manager leading two or more distinct software development teams.
• Strong software engineering background with the ability to understand, review, and discuss production code.
• Experience building Software as a Service (SaaS) products.
• Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and adapt your leadership approach to teams with different levels of maturity.

Nice To Haves

• Experience leading teams working on machine learning or artificial intelligence products.
• Experience collaborating with Applied Scientists or research-oriented engineering teams.
• Experience leading organizations through periods of growth or organizational transformation.
• Passion for building high-performing teams while remaining close to technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead two or more software development teams working on strategic initiatives within our Explore organization.
• Adapt your leadership style to the maturity, autonomy, and needs of each team while fostering ownership and accountability.
• Partner closely with Product Management, Applied Science, and Engineering leaders to deliver impactful AI-powered capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews when appropriate.
• Coach and develop engineers, supporting their career growth while building a healthy and high-performing engineering culture.
• Help shape the evolution of our R&D organization by contributing to cross-team collaboration, planning, and continuous improvement.
