About The Position

Tacoma Arts Live is a 45-year-old nonprofit arts organization dedicated to creating shared arts experiences that connect, educate, and inspire. Through live performance, cultural programming, and accessible arts education, we bring people together to foster belonging, build shared understanding, and spark creativity across the South Sound. The position is half-time, generally 20 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend hours for special events, and requires the employee to be onsite regularly in Tacoma for meetings and in-person events, with flexibility to perform other responsibilities either remotely or in office. The Development Manager holds key responsibility for donor stewardship and data tracking and plays a critical role in increasing contributed revenue for the organization.

Requirements

  • Two to five years of demonstrated success in fundraising
  • Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, arts, social service, a related field or equivalent experience
  • Exemplary customer service, data management, and reporting skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including written and oral communication
  • Ability to establish and maintain great working relationships with constituents of diverse backgrounds and experiences

Responsibilities

  • Alongside the CEO, cultivate and steward donor relationships, including individuals, small businesses, and corporations
  • Plan and execute annual giving campaigns including direct mail, email, online giving, Fund-a-Need, targeted giving days, etc.
  • Collaborate with CEO to develop engagement plans for entry, mid, and major donors with the goal of increasing gift levels and ensuring donor retention
  • Support the CEO in pursuing major gifts and deepening existing relationships, including scheduling meetings with donors and attending meetings as appropriate
  • Manage and execute key fundraising events (e.g. - house parties, brunch fundraiser, etc.)
  • Track development data using online platforms such as Zeffy or similar
  • Collaborate to support grant writing and communications activities as needed
