About The Position

Jewish Family & Children's Services of Southern Arizona (JFCS) is a nonprofit, non-sectarian behavioral health agency providing specialized therapy, counseling, and social services to the greater Tucson community. For over 80 years, JFCS has helped thousands of children, families, adults, and seniors regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, age, or ability to pay. The Development & Grants Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the agency's fundraising and development efforts while providing administrative support to agency leadership and operations. This position is responsible for coordinating grant activities, strengthening donor engagement, supporting fundraising campaigns and special events, and assisting with development-related communications. As the agency continues to grow its fundraising capacity, this role will help build sustainable grant management processes, cultivate donor relationships, and support strategic development initiatives. Administrative responsibilities support the overall effectiveness of the organization and complement the primary focus on development.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
  • Two or more years of administrative experience required.
  • Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or grant writing preferred.
  • Excellent written, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with donor databases preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the agency's fundraising and development strategy.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing annual giving campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and special events.
  • Support donor cultivation, stewardship, recognition, and ongoing engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, gift acknowledgments, and constituent information within the donor database.
  • Research prospective donors, corporate partners, foundations, and other funding opportunities.
  • Prepare donor correspondence, fundraising materials, impact reports, and stewardship communications.
  • Assist with Board Development Committee meeting materials, fundraising reports, and presentation materials.
  • Coordinate post-event donor follow-up, acknowledgements, and stewardship activities.
  • Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with agency priorities.
  • Coordinate grant applications from concept through submission, ensuring all required documentation is complete and submitted on time.
  • Assist in writing, editing, and preparing competitive grant proposals.
  • Maintain ownership of the Agency's grant calendar, tracking proposal deadlines, reporting schedules, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with program staff to collect program narratives, outcome data, budgets, and supporting documentation.
  • Track grant deliverables, outcomes, performance measures, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare grant reports and assist with post-award grant administration to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  • Support marketing and communications efforts that promote fundraising and community engagement.
  • Assist with development-related website updates, newsletters, social media content, annual reports, and donor communications.
  • Coordinate communication materials that highlight agency impact, fundraising initiatives, and grant-funded programs.
  • Maintain development collateral, templates, and promotional materials.
  • Provide administrative support to agency leadership and departments.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting agendas, presentations, and other organizational documents.
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, and logistics for leadership and development activities.
  • Maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Answer phones and greet visitors as needed.
  • Assist with agency-wide projects and administrative initiatives that support organizational operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of agency, client, and donor information.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships with program staff, leadership, Board members, donors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Support agency-wide initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
