About The Position

This is an amazing opportunity for experienced, highly motivated Development & Facilities Manager to get in on the ground floor, help shape our expanding CRISP & GREEN brand, and play a meaningful role in a rapidly growing, differentiated brand in the BETTER-FOR-YOU restaurant category. The Development & Facilities Manager is responsible for engagement with franchisees, architects, contractors and corporate partners to provide key support to ensure stores are built effectively, efficiently, and within budget. Key responsibilities will include interpreting blueprints, monitoring project timelines, monitoring project specifications, overseeing production and facilities needs across the portfolio, and creating relationships with the support networks. The Development & Facilities Manager must have working knowledge of construction documents, methodologies and procedures and be able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results, while partnering closely with Operations and Supply Chain to keep store buildouts and facility needs aligned with broader operational planning. The Development & Facilities Manager must also have demonstrated experience consulting with franchisees throughout the construction process.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of commercial construction experience as an assistant project manager, project engineer, field engineer or superintendent — retail, restaurant or other multi-site tenant-improvement work strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and MEP documents
  • Working knowledge of permitting, inspections and jurisdictional approval processes
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision
  • Demonstrated organization and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization and communication skills; able to run a meeting, hold vendors to dates and manage several concurrent projects
  • Proficiency with Excel and project scheduling tools; valid driver's license and willingness to travel 25%

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Experience with franchised restaurant or QSR construction and franchisor design/approval processes
  • Remodel / reimage experience in occupied, operating locations — phasing, night/off-hours work and hard reopening dates
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet, Microsoft Office Suite and construction management platforms (e.g., Procore)

Responsibilities

  • Consult with and advise franchisees throughout the construction process including:
  • Assist with the qualifying and bidding process for General Contractors to achieve competitive pricing
  • Develop construction and vendor delivery and installation schedules
  • Project meetings & reporting — Participate in weekly project meetings; report schedules, budgets and key milestones to internal stakeholders, GCs, architects and franchisor contacts; keep the development schedule Smartsheet current
  • Manage the submittal and receipt of all building and health permits and approvals necessary
  • Coordinate all key activities with the General Contractor and Vendors, assist in managing critical events from project start up through punch list completion and transition to operations
  • Weekly reporting including schedule update, utility updates, OSI updates, etc.
  • Provide support & guidance to franchisees, architects, and contractors throughout development process
  • Partner with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion and adherence to contractual requirements
  • Oversee production and facilities needs across open locations, including equipment, systems and vendor-managed infrastructure
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to align store buildouts, facility upgrades, and equipment/vendor needs with broader operational planning
  • Address existing store facilities issues including vendor contact and follow up
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and work orders
  • Coordinate internal resources and others for support of store buildouts
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution
  • Proficiency with Smartsheets project management software a plus
