About The Position

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to product and manufacturing process development through participation in cross-functional project teams. Responsibilities include concept design and development, contributing to product and packaging design through reviews and analysis, and participating in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews. You will also review process specifications and development plans with team members and external suppliers, assist in the selection of plastic processing equipment, and help develop project capital and product cost requirements. Detailed process development involves conducting processing trials to optimize variables using analytical tools, DOE methods, and pFMEA, alongside plastic part and mold design best practices. Process verification includes conducting FAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ qualifications for molds, equipment, and molding processes, coordinating measurement and dimensional studies, and documenting results in technical reports. Metrology tasks involve conducting measurement system analysis, functional testing, and executing dimensional studies, also documented in technical reports.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate student completing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering between December 2027 – June 2029.
  • Proven leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, Greek life, community service, volunteer organizations, campus programs, military service, or other leadership roles.
  • A track record of influencing others, leading initiatives, driving results, and creating positive impact within teams and organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and solve complex problems.
  • Evidence of grit, resilience, and perseverance when facing challenges, setbacks, or competing priorities.

  • Onsite and in-office work is an essential function of this role and is required throughout the program and in future placements to support collaboration across businesses, functions, and locations.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship (current or future) for employment visa status.
  • Students are required to have a reliable mode of transportation to and from their assigned work location for the duration of their co-op.

Responsibilities
