The Texas Bar Foundation is seeking a Development Director who reports directly to the Executive Director. This role is responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual and corporate sponsorship support. The Development Director will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate special development efforts, working closely with the Fellows Chair, Development Committee, and seventeen district area chairs to develop and implement fundraising strategies. This position involves training and managing volunteer solicitors, overseeing endowment and planned giving initiatives, managing an achievement award program, and planning/implementing fundraising events. The role also requires maintaining accurate donor data, representing the Bar Foundation to stakeholders, managing budgets, assisting with meeting minutes, updating donor information in Raiser's Edge, and producing various donor-related materials. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Access is required, along with Raiser's Edge being preferred. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial and strategic approach to fundraising, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Frequent overnight travel statewide is required.
