About The Position

The Development Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative and project support to the Founders’ Board of Lurie Children’s Hospital and as needed, supports and collaborates with the Community and Donor Engagement team and the Foundation of Lurie Children's. Under the supervision of the Director of Community Engagement, the Coordinator supports the Founders’ Board President, Founders’ Board members, and the Founders’ Board staff team, while collaborating with the broader Community and Donor Engagement and Foundation teams. This role assists with project management for all Board-related events, fundraising campaigns, and initiatives, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, deadlines are met, and fundraising objectives are achieved.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • One year of development experience preferable.
  • Computer skills, including Word processing, Excel and Power Point knowledge.
  • Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills needed, including verbal and language skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and in consensus organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to establish priorities and apply available information and equipment to complete assignments on a timely basis.
  • The Coordinator should have qualities of integrity, industry and curiosity.
  • He or she must have an energy level that ensures high quality productivity on a timely basis.
  • He or she must be capable of exercising good judgment and confidentiality in dealing with donors, staff and volunteers and must have patience for and understanding of the needs of others.
  • He or she must be independent, accurate, reliable and a hard worker.
  • He or she must be able to perform effectively under the pressure of competing and demanding deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects under deadlines are essential.
  • A team attitude is necessary to work with internal and external constituencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manages solicitation production schedule for direct marketing efforts; handles approval process, gathering and synthesizing feedback; coordinates other resources to meet deadlines.
  • Manages and collaborates with other teams as necessary to gather media needed for various fundraising channels, including direct mail, multiple digital platforms and telemarketing. This may take various forms like written patient stories, videos, photos and hospital statistics.
  • Serves as the lead on requested lists; monitors exports and imports and maintenance of the “do not mail” list.
  • Manages and oversees the input of data into Raiser’s Edge necessary to generate analytical reports, including expenses, the creation of campaign, appeal and package codes; entry of mail and in-home dates and other information as necessary.
  • Serves as the team’s Raiser’s Edge SuperUser.
  • Serves as the liaison between vendors and the Information Services staff to ensure that emails are correctly built and sent out on time.
  • Coordinates with Communications team on the digital calendar.
  • Assists with gift entry, acknowledgements to lower-level donors and other stewardship opportunities as necessary.
  • Handles light correspondence with donors, including incorrect credit cards as well as donor concerns via mail, phone and email.
  • Assists with logistics for Employee Giving, Handfuls of Love and other special programs, including submitting Payroll deduction information and other tasks as necessary.
  • Provides administrative support as needed by the team, including but not limited to Power Point presentations, scheduling meetings, tours and appointments, answering phone calls, greeting and directing guests and other support as needed.
  • Assists Director with special requests such as Woodmark needs and preparation of reports and documents as needed.
  • Attends educational opportunities to stay current with new fundraising and direct response trends.
  • Other job functions as assigned.
