About The Position

Island Crisis Care Society (ICCS) is seeking a creative and motivated Resource Development Intern to support our communications and fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Resource Development Manager, this intern will play a key role in increasing our social media presence and developing a print and digital fundraising campaign that resonates across diverse demographics. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of social media strategy, content creation, and storytelling to help amplify ICCS’s mission and impact. Proficiency in Canva is highly desirable. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about community engagement, inclusive messaging, and making a difference through meaningful communication.

Requirements

  • Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
  • International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Canva is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop external email communications for donors, community partners, and potential partners for an upcoming fundraiser
  • Conduct research on statistics related to housing, homelessness, and mental health on Vancouver Island.
  • Create materials such as posters and social media posts for fundraising events.
  • Perform database entries and analysis.
  • Participate in public engagement opportunities at the office and off-site events.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Wage: $19.00/hr for 30 hours per week for 9 weeks
