This is a full-time, permanent, overtime-exempt position with an average expected work week of around 40 hours. Reporting to the Development Director, the Development Associate will be a key member of CBE’s Development Team. The Development Associate will be responsible for an active portfolio of foundation relationships; for leading and managing the creation of content for LOIs, proposals, and reports; and for coordinating the creation of budgets and other attachments. The Associate will provide support for other development tasks, such as managing grant requirements and participating in CBE’s Community Teams and Resource Mobilization (Fundraising) Team. The Development Associate will help CBE implement its Transformative Organizing Model by collaborating with other staff on grant items, contributing to grassroots fundraising activities and other development projects, and occasionally participating in program activities. In addition to the above, CBE has made a commitment to addressing anti-Blackness and white supremacy culture within our organization. The Development Associate will participate in CBE’s internal work to advance the Development team’s equity goals. CBE has four offices: Oakland and Richmond (Bay Area) in Northern California and Huntington Park and Wilmington (Los Angeles) in Southern California. Currently, most CBE staff are working remotely and/or working out of the office intermittently. The Development Associate can work remotely and is encouraged to occasionally work out of any of our offices.
