About The Position

The Development Associate provides essential operational and administrative support to the development team, ensuring the smooth execution of fundraising and engagement activities. This role coordinates volunteer efforts, manages all administrative components, and supports program staff. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate donor records and financial tracking (cash logs, Raiser’s Edge entry), handling general office administration, and supporting communications such as newsletters, social media, and donor stewardship outreach. The Associate also assists with community engagement through event coordination and outreach meetings, and supports targeted initiatives such as young professional fundraising efforts and the Echo Society. A strong candidate will demonstrate a desire to learn and grow within the role, with an expressed interest in developing into a Development Officer position over time. This position reports to the Development Director and plays a vital role in sustaining daily development functions.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and willingness to learn CRM systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and professionalism.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn all aspects of development, with a desire to grow into a Development Officer role over time.
  • Positive attitude, initiative, and willingness to support team needs across functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or currently pursuing, relevant experience may be considered.
  • 1–3 years of administrative, nonprofit, or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support for development activities, including data entry, gift processing, and record maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate donor and financial records, including cash logs and CRM (Raiser’s Edge) entry.
  • Coordinate volunteer efforts, including scheduling, communication, and administrative tracking.
  • Support development communications, including newsletters, social media, and donor stewardship materials.
  • Assist in planning and executing events, outreach activities, and community engagement efforts.
  • Manage general office and administrative needs, including supplies, scheduling, and meeting coordination.
  • Support targeted initiatives such as the Echo Society and young professional engagement efforts.
  • Assist with donor acknowledgments and ensure timely and accurate correspondence.
  • Participate in outreach meetings and community events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
