The UJA Manhattan Division engages donors through neighbor engagement, synagogue affiliation, community participation, and intergenerational experiences. No matter what age or stage a person is in life, the Manhattan Division is a go-to resource to connect with peers and change lives through meaningful volunteer projects, content-rich experiences, neighborhood and synagogue-based networks, UJA Pride, community events, and leadership development. Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun and UJA-Federation of New York are longtime partners in doing good. Through KJ synagogue dues and the Yom Kippur appeal, UJA receives donations from KJ members. The Development Associate/ Executive will work closely with the synagogue clergy and leadership to engage the synagogue members through boutique and volunteer events and opportunities for the KJ Community. The Development Associate/Executive will also be charged with cultivating donor relationships to strengthen the UJA annual campaign through one-on-one engagement, group programs and events, educational content, leadership opportunities, and more. The Center for Youth Philanthropy and Leadership (CYPL) operates within the Manhattan division and provides an opportunity for families to connect with UJA-Federation through a model of intergenerational philanthropy. The Development Associate/Executive will oversee the Give a Mitzvah-Do a Mitzvah (GMDM) program, which is designed to provide custom fundraising and volunteer experiences for families celebrating a b’nai mitzvah. They will also work cross-divisionally throughout UJA to implement a multigenerational engagement strategy to cultivate deeper relationships with families with middle school-aged children. The Development Associate/Executive will work closely with UJA agency partners to serve as a liaison for volunteer projects and site visits. They will also serve as a facilitator for The Philanthropic Advisory Council for Teens (PACT). PACT meets seven Sundays throughout the year and offers high school students a foundation board experience where they will learn and practice the ABCs of fundraising, explore philanthropy through a Jewish lens, and discover the breadth and depth of UJA’s powerful work.
