About The Position

The Development Assistant provides administrative support for all development functions. Key Responsibilities: Pick up and process incoming mail and enter all donations for daily deposit, enter address changes and other donor/prospect information in Salesforce, produce acknowledgment letters for all monetary donations. Send reminders, update subscription information for recurring donations, respond to routine inquiries about various giving programs, donor benefits, and monetary donations, mail bequest information packets, memorial/honorary gift cards, invitations, and other materials to donors. Will staff annual special events and various donor recognition/cultivation programs, maintain and order general office supplies, collaborate with the Corporate Sponsorship Officer to maintain accurate sponsorship records, including pledges, event attendance, benefits fulfillment, and payment status. Provide administrative support to the Director of Special Events, including ordering sponsor and donor gift items, coordinating event seating assignments and table arrangements, preparing event materials, and provide assistance as needed on special projects. Participate in Center activities and events and complete other assignments as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to type 50+ WPM with exceptional accuracy
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Superior proofreading and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality relating to donor and departmental records
  • Ability to interface with donors, potential donors and fellow employees in a fast paced environment, often with multiple competing deadlines
  • Must be able to drive company vehicles
  • Current CA license and clean DMV record required

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service or administrative support background
  • Interest in pursuing a career in fundraising
  • Previous nonprofit and Sales Force Database experience preferred
  • Some college preferred
