About The Position

Canadian Natural is seeking passionate Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology students for a Developer Student role. This position offers hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications for content management, business processes, and operational efficiency. The student will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to meaningful projects and developing valuable technical and professional skills in a collaborative and innovative environment. The role involves maintaining and developing application components to streamline business processes, providing application support, and identifying and improving data integrity problems. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a degree/diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Modern programming language knowledge in either Java/Python/C++.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: VB.NET, C#.NET, ASP.NET, Blazor, Entity Framework, React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSSE, MS SQL Server, Orchestrator, Angular, ServiceNow, Power BI, Oracle, M365(SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive), Documentum, AND McLaren.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with technologies such as C#, .NET, Python, SQL, Visual Studio Code (VS Code), Git, Node.js, npm, Yeoman, Heft, REST APIs, and other scripting languages.
  • Experience developing analytic reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, and test applications, including application logic, user interfaces, data integrations, data conversion scripts, and reports.
  • Develop Progressive Web Applications (PWA).
  • Collaborate with Systems Analysts and Developers throughout the application lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to deployment and support.
  • Develop, maintain, and adhere to functional and technical specifications and documentation.
  • Design and develop new applications or data integrations based on business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop solutions using technologies such as C#, .NET, Python, SQL, Visual Studio Code (VS Code), Git, Node.js, npm, Yeoman, Heft, REST APIs, and other scripting languages.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and fix problems related to applications, system integrations, and SQL queries.
  • Develop analytic reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities with high levels of effectiveness and enthusiasm.
