About The Position

Normal Computing is building foundational software and hardware for the semiconductor industry, AI infrastructure, and broader systems. The Developer Relations Lead will drive the strategy and execution for building Normal's technical community, which includes engineers, researchers, and technical leaders in design verification, AI-assisted EDA, and related fields. This role involves growing the audience across various channels, launching and managing a community platform, representing Normal at technical events, and fostering relationships that support Sales, Talent, and Partnerships. The position also involves gathering market intelligence, product feedback, and hiring leads. This role is part of the Communications team and collaborates closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Recruiting, and Partnerships to break down silos.

  • Demonstrated experience growing a technical community from early stages.
  • Experience in or around deep tech, semiconductor, hardware, or infrastructure industries strongly preferred.
  • Track record of building community programs and growth campaigns with clear ownership of budget and performance targets.
  • Experience running an online community platform and producing owned events from concept through execution.
  • Credibility in technical settings; ability to engage in meaningful conversations with verification engineers.
  • An understanding of effective technical content and its deployment.
  • Comfort with data, including CRM systems, campaign analytics, community metrics, and reporting dashboards.
  • Execution-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to build structure where none exists and iterate based on feedback.
  • Intellectual honesty and willingness to challenge existing approaches.
  • Low ego, high ownership mentality; willingness to fill gaps across teams.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences, community events, and field engagement (estimated 30-40%).

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage community infrastructure, including onboarding flows, engagement sequences, lead scoring, and a real-time community platform (e.g., Slack, Discord).
  • Design and execute multi-channel growth campaigns across paid social, organic content, co-hosted customer engagements, and event-based programming.
  • Launch and manage a podcast to engage technical audiences and deepen relationships within the engineering community.
  • Grow Normal's social media presence with specific growth and engagement targets, managing both organic and paid campaigns.
  • Coordinate internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) participation in community channels, events, and content, and encourage team members to amplify through their personal networks.
  • Represent Normal at conferences, technical events, and in the field, building relationships, qualifying interest, and facilitating handoffs to Sales, Recruiting, and Partnerships.
  • Manage the end-to-end conference operating loop: advance research, bilateral scheduling, onsite execution, lead scoring, debriefs, and pipeline entry.
  • Build a conference speaking pipeline, including CFP submissions, SME coordination, and increasing Normal's presence in conference programs.
  • Design conference-adjacent events (dinners, workshops, invite-only sessions) to enhance conference impact.
  • Conceive and execute Normal-hosted developer events, starting with hackathons, to allow engineers to engage with Normal EDA and showcase their work.
  • Evaluate and recommend sponsorships and partnerships to deepen engagement with priority technical communities.
  • Partner with the Head of Communications to define attribution methodology, lead quality scoring, and reporting frameworks.
  • Manage post-event operations, including scoring, debriefs, and community pipeline entry on a defined cadence.
  • Synthesize field intelligence from conferences, community channels, and field conversations into a monthly report for Product and GTM leadership.
  • Deliver monthly reports on community growth, social media performance, campaign efficiency, and conversion.
  • Run experiments across channels and formats, report results, and iterate based on performance.
