About The Position
About VAST Data VAST Data is revolutionizing the data infrastructure landscape with its innovative approach to data platforms, AI acceleration, and storage architecture. Our mission is to simplify data infrastructure while enabling organizations to extract maximum value from their data assets in the age of AI. Role Overview We're looking for a dynamic Developer Advocate to serve as a bridge between technical teams and the user community. In this role, you'll champion our technologies through workshops, content, and events, helping customers and prospects understand how VAST Data and our API-first platform can transform data and AI initiatives.
Requirements
- Background in software development, developer relations, advocacy, or technical evangelism
- Public speaking with proven experience presenting technical content
- Strong technical writing skills with a portfolio of blog posts, documentation, technical content
- Experience creating and delivering technical workshops or training programs
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives
- Experience with modern AI frameworks and data processing technologies
- Familiarity with distributed computing concepts and technologies
- Software development experience in languages and tools used in data engineering (Python, SQL, vector databases, etc.)
Nice To Haves
- Understanding of modern advanced storage and compute architectures, particularly open-source, and their impact on data pipeline performance
- Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies
- Understanding of modern database technologies
- Experience with VAST Data products or similar data platform technologies
- Experience building and deploying data pipelines in production environments
- Active social media presence in relevant technical communities
- Previous experience working with enterprise customers in the data infrastructure space
Responsibilities
- Represent VAST Data at industry conferences, meetups, and events as a speaker
- Design and deliver compelling technical workshops
- Build relationships with developer communities, AI practitioners, and data engineers
- Be a part of and nurture our active Cosmos community of customers and partners
- Develop high-quality technical content including tutorials, blog posts, videos, and documentation
- Create comprehensive workshop materials for both in-person and virtual delivery
- Build applications, reference architectures, and proof-of-concepts
- Design and implement hands-on labs for data pipelines and AI workflows
- Demonstrating best practices for data platform implementations
- Build and showcase integration with popular frameworks
- Serve as a technical advisor to SEs and customers
- Collaborate with product teams to translate customer feedback into product improvements and product adoption
- Develop proof-of-concept AI agents and data pipelines using VAST Data
- Create educational content explaining how VAST Data enhances AI development workflows
- Collaborate with partners to showcase pipelines used by their AI agents
- Stay current on emerging AI technologies and frameworks to identify integration opportunities
