About The Position

Our IT Surety department is currently seeking a developer to design, develop, and maintain the CinciBond and Surety Next Level Bond issuance systems to ensure it meets business requirements and performance standards. This role will have a focus on product configuration and development using both Java and Angular skillsets. The developer will triage production problems, understand business workflow, and identify both business and technical solutions to requirements and defects. To ensure active engagement in meetings, it is mandatory for all IT associates to have cameras turned on for all interactions with other associates, customers, and stakeholders. Your camera must be on and positioned correctly to clearly show your face. This practice is crucial for maintaining connection and engagement, as non-verbal cues are essential for effective communication.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years’ experience in java and angular development
  • demonstrate knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • demonstrate understanding of bond product configurations, policy administration and forms development process
  • strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and ORMs like Hibernate/JPA; ability to write optimized queries
  • experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and building RESTful APIs; familiarity with microservices architecture
  • deep understanding of Java (8+) features, object-oriented principles, collections, streams, multithreading, and performance optimization
  • ability to connect Angular frontends with Java backends via REST/GraphQL APIs, handling authentication (JWT/OAuth2) and data flow
  • expertise in designing and documenting REST APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger), ensuring scalability, versioning, and security best practices
  • experience with unit and integration testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine/Karma; focus on code quality and coverage
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills with the proven ability to multi-task
  • effectively troubleshoot, debug and solve complex issues
  • strong analytical and organizational skills
  • the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • self-starter and able to perform job with moderate supervision
  • the ability to work in a team environment and to complete work independently

Responsibilities

  • provide analysis and development of specifications and review prepared business requirements
  • define technical design specifications for policy administration forms and implement solutions
  • lead technical and business discussions related to forms development and forms defect correction
  • develop detailed system designs and review approved system designs with project team
  • perform impact analysis on requests and defects
  • prepare and update all necessary documentation
  • perform unit tests of code deliveries and solutions
  • review schedules, objectives, and priorities with service manager
  • initiate suggestions for improvement to systems and procedures
  • assist with routine work of the department as required
  • lead and mentor other developers
