About The Position

Ericsson Inc. seeks a Developer (Front End Infrastructure CAD Engineer) in Austin, TX; Hybrid work policy w/in commuting distance, who will serve to develop, deploy, and support complex Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Software tools used in Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) System on Chip (SoC)/Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Intellectual Property (IP) Design & Verification from major vendors.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience in Hardware and Software Development Engineering or Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in Hardware and Software Development Engineering.
Support design, development and verification of Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) System on Chip (SoC)/Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Intellectual Property (IP) using Verilog, System Verilog, high speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL), Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and System C.
Improve and optimize Front End Intellectual Property (IP) Design & Verification flows for Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) / System on Chip (SoC) / Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to boost quality and productivity.
Partner with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool vendors to troubleshoot issues and streamline integration of new tools in design flows.
Scripting and automation using Python, Perl, Bash, csh, tcl.
Manage Compute Infrastructure migrations (e.g. Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server) and Continuous Integration / Continuous Development automation flows using Jenkins.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Software tool vendors, advanced process technology foundries, and 3rd party Intellectual Property (IP) vendors for troubleshooting issues and enhance performance in design processes and methodologies used for mobile communication hardware like the fifth generation (5G) and future standards.
Perform modeling, Register Transfer Level (RTL) design, verification, systemization, integration, synthesis, test, placement, routing, timing, electrical analysis, physical checks, software development, and hardware validation.
