About The Position

Healthie is seeking its first Developer Evangelist to own the infrastructure, content, and relationships that help builders understand what's possible on Healthie's API. The company has thousands of developers building on its APIs, and this role is crucial for supporting and growing this community. The Developer Evangelist will be responsible for ensuring the API and Developer Experience are top-notch, reflecting the high standards of the healthcare industry. This role is ideal for someone passionate about technical fluency, community building, and content creation within the challenging and impactful domain of healthcare.

Requirements

  • Experience in developer relations, technical marketing, or a role at the intersection of technical and external-facing work.
  • Ability to read, write, and reason about code to produce credible examples, evaluate quickstarts, and engage in substantive conversations with engineers.
  • Exceptional writing skills for technical documentation, blog posts, and other content.
  • Strong instincts for developer experience, identifying and fixing confusing documentation or onboarding flows.
  • A community builder mentality, understanding that a developer community is a mentality grounded in obsessing over the API.
  • Curiosity about healthcare, finding compliance, workflows, and the stakes involved important.
  • U.S. work authorization required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building something with an AI coding tool and having opinions on what makes an API and its documentation 'LLM-friendly'.

Responsibilities

  • Invest in and grow the developer community through forums, Discord, GitHub, and regular touchpoints.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for developers, answering questions, gathering feedback, and ensuring support.
  • Organize events, AMAs, and office hours to connect the community with product and engineering teams.
  • Develop and execute a content strategy for the platform, including what to publish, where, how often, and for whom.
  • Create technical content such as integration walkthroughs, architecture guides, API use case spotlights, and demo videos.
  • Produce diagrams, stack guides, and reference architectures to help developers understand Healthie's integration into their tech stacks.
  • Audit existing developer documentation, identify gaps, and drive significant improvements to guides, quickstarts, code samples, and reference material.
  • Develop guidance optimized for LLM-assisted development to improve the experience for customers using AI coding tools.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure documentation accurately reflects rate limits and query depth for safe and predictable API usage.
  • Represent Healthie at conferences, developer meetups, hackathons, and healthcare tech events.
  • Partner with Sales and Solutions teams to provide live demos and real-world examples of Healthie's capabilities.
  • Own the live demo tool to help customers leverage Healthie within their tech stacks.
