AI Evangelist

About The Position

Tenex is seeking an AI Evangelist to join their team. This role sits at the intersection of building with AI and communicating about those builds. The AI Evangelist will ship real software using frontier coding tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini, and transform these builds into educational content for Tenex's audience of AI-curious operators, founders, and enterprise leaders. Additionally, the role involves leading AI workshops for Tenex's customers, ranging from team hackathons to leadership enablement sessions and function-specific workshops. The work is cyclical, with builds informing content, content sharpening workshops, and workshops identifying new builds. The position reports directly to Alex Lieberman, Cofounder of Tenex & Morning Brew, and collaborates with engineering, GTM, and content teams. This is a high-ownership role for a builder-creator skilled in writing functional code, creating engaging content, and leading customer workshops.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software building experience with demonstrated experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or equivalents) to build production-ready work or tools for real users.
  • A strong portfolio of teaching content (videos, posts, playbooks, threads) that explains technical concepts to a technical or AI-curious audience, articulating choices made and audience response.
  • Deep understanding of AI, including current developments, relevant tools, and the ability to build workflows that produce tangible output.
  • Experience in leading workshops and teaching technical material to non-technical audiences, including running hackathons or training sessions for leaders.
  • A creator's instinct for identifying compelling aspects of builds for content creation (videos, threads, playbooks) and the ability to produce finished products.
  • Operational discipline to manage a parallel calendar of builds, content production, and workshops without compromising quality.
  • Ability to produce and edit own content end-to-end.
  • Exceptional taste and judgment in distinguishing between effective demos and robust builds, and between polished and engaging content.
  • High ownership mentality and low ego, willing to perform diverse tasks and provide constructive pushback.
  • Experience straddling engineering and content for a creator, founder, or technical brand targeting AI-native operators and enterprises.
