About The Position

As a Developer, Cloud Engineering working in the DevOps team in Toronto, you’ll be responsible for collaborating across the bank with software developers and other specialists throughout the entire software lifecycle to bring flexible, automated, and efficient continuous integration and deployment into production. You will design and develop enterprise-wide CI/CD solutions in collaboration with our partners throughout the bank, providing a critical part of the software platform upon which the bank’s software teams deliver world-class software applications and financial products.

Requirements

  • Experience creating large-scale IAC-based deployments in Terraform (or Open Tofu)
  • Experience with Policy as Code (PAC) for enterprise-scale infrastructure (esp. OPA Policies written in Rego)
  • Experience with Release Automation
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) automation
  • Experience and comfort providing Level 3 support
  • Experience with Software Version Control with Git
  • Experience with semantic versioning
  • Experience with software package hosting (e.g., GitHub Packages, Artifactory, yarn, npm)
  • Experience with application security tooling (e.g., Snyk, WebInspect, CheckMarx, BlackDuck, SonarQube) and logging and monitoring tooling (e.g., Splunk, Balabit, Dynatrace)
  • Experience with software supply-chain security (SBOMs, SCA, and code-signing)
  • Experience with public clouds (e.g., GCP, Azure, Amazon)
  • Experience designing, implementing, managing, fine-tuning, and maintaining enterprise-scale Google Cloud network clusters with Kubernetes/GKE
  • Alternatively, experience with ArgoCD (including Argo Rollouts and Argo Workflows) and with building clusters on other cloud technologies
  • Experience with secrets management (esp. with HashiCorp Vault)
  • Experience with CI Tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
  • Experience with build systems (e.g., Gradle, Maven, make)
  • Experience with CD Tools (e.g., ArgoCD, HelmCharts, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., Docker, podman, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Linux system administration at the command-line, especially Bash scripting
  • Experience with automating tasks in scripting languages useful in CD (e.g., Bash, Node.js, Python, Ruby, Go, Groovy, Java)
  • Experience with networking, network policies (esp. RBAC), and security (esp. firewalls)
  • Experience with Configuration as Code (CAC) (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet)

Responsibilities

  • Apply your knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Configuration as Code (CAC), and Policy as Code (PAC) to build enterprise-scale environments in which hundreds of software teams can build and deploy their applications
  • Apply your knowledge of Google Cloud (or other public clouds), especially in conjunction with the use of Continuous Deployment (CD) tooling, to deploy enterprise-scale applications
  • Apply your knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) tools to build an orchestrated enterprise workflow
