About The Position

The Supplier Management organization is looking for a junior developer to join our team. In this role, you will be developing features and maintaining various components. At SAP, all members of the engineering team, including management, are hands-on and close to the code. As a junior developer on the team, the candidate is expected to be motivated and take initiative, communicate and work with a senior developer, contribute to feature elaboration, task breakdown and estimation, collaborate in a team environment that extends to colleagues in remote locations and from various lines of business within the company, debug, troubleshoot and communicate with customers about their issues with their data models and queries, and continually enhance existing skills and seek new areas for personal development. You will have the opportunity to work at Europe’s largest software company and contribute to a large code base, learn and work independently, and embrace lean and agile software development principles.

Requirements

  • Must have a university degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or electrical engineering. Other engineering degrees along with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Must have a good GPA and/or prior hands-on development experience in object-oriented projects.
  • Knowledge of the HTTP protocol and TCP/IP networking is required, or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical and communication skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with Java, Spring boot, REST APIs are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge or experience developing multi-threaded applications is desirable.
