About The Position

Merastar Insurance Company is seeking a Developer 4 in Richardson, Texas. This role involves providing technical support for applications and system software, developing and executing unit test cases, and resolving complex technical issues. The position also requires recommending test plans, suggesting process improvements, ensuring quality reviews of application software designs, and leading projects across technical disciplines. Additionally, the Developer 4 will develop technical knowledge and skills of IS project teams, support proof-of-concept activities for new technologies, and guide teams in resolving recurring production problems. The role includes leading teams through project phase gates. Remote working and a hybrid schedule are available, with the company's remote policy allowing up to 65 days of remote work annually.

Requirements

• Bach. degree, or foreign equiv., in Info. Tech. or related field plus 5 yrs exp. in job offered.
• 5 yrs exp in: providing tech. leadership on large/complex app. installation, development & support projects
• 5 yrs exp in: program design methods, techniques & standard development tools
• 5 yrs exp in: use of new frameworks, tools, languages & making recommendations in apps such as JAVA, Spring, SpringBoot, Angular, REST, Tomcat, AWS, PostgreSQL, GIT, JIRA, Eclipse, Jenkins
• 5 yrs exp in: identifying improvement areas in architecture & integration & design
• 5 yrs exp in: teaching & providing instruction to co-workers & providing feedback on progress toward goals
• 5 yrs exp in: cloud development practices
• 5 yrs exp in: various project methodologies (agile & waterfall)
• 5 yrs exp in: translating business to tech. req
• 5 yrs exp in: tech. controls, security concepts & SOX req.
• 3 yrs exp providing managerial direction.

Responsibilities

• Provide tech. support for apps & system software technologies.
• Develop, document & execute unit test cases.
• Resolve complex tech. issues with apps & processes.
• Recommend test plans for impacted areas & end-to-end test coverage.
• Recommend improvements to processes.
• Ensure quality reviews of app. software designs.
• Lead projects across tech. disciplines.
• Develop tech. knowledge & skills of IS projects teams.
• Support proof-of-concept activities for new technologies.
• Guide teams on solutions for resolving frequently occurring production problems.
• Lead team in phase gates for projects.
