About The Position

The Detox Tech Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the detoxification unit within a healthcare or rehabilitation facility. This position ensures the safe and effective management of clients undergoing detoxification from substances, and supervising detox technicians to maintain high standards of patient care. The supervisor is responsible for managing crises, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety protocols. Ultimately, the Detox Tech Supervisor contributes to the overall success of the treatment program by fostering a safe, compassionate, and efficient environment for both clients and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in detoxification or substance abuse treatment settings.
  • Minimum 2 years demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills daily to effectively manage and motivate the detox team, ensuring cohesive and compassionate patient care.
  • Clinical knowledge and critical thinking are essential for assessing patient conditions and making timely decisions to address medical or behavioral emergencies.
  • Organizational skills are applied to maintain accurate records, manage staff schedules, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Interpersonal skills facilitate collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and foster trust with patients and their families.
  • Proficiency with healthcare technology supports efficient documentation and enhances overall operational effectiveness within the detox unit.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related healthcare field.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation.
  • Advanced certifications related to substance abuse treatment or behavioral health.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing detox and substance abuse treatment.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide guidance to detox technicians in delivering client care during the detoxification process.
  • Monitor client’s physical and emotional status, promptly identifying and addressing any complications or emergencies.
  • Coordinate with medical professionals to implement individualized detox plans and ensure adherence to treatment protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client care, incidents, and staff performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, safety standards, and facility policies within the detox unit.
  • Conduct training and development sessions for detox staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Manage scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care at all times.
