About The Position

The Detailing Coordinator I supports the Engineering and Detailing Department in the preparation of detailed drawings and documentation for structural steel projects as a part of Hillsdale Fabricators, a premier structural steel fabricator and erector. This role contributes to the company’s long-standing reputation for delivering complex steel structures with exceptional precision, safety, and quality. The Detailing Coordinator I works collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to ensure drawings meet project specifications and align with Hillsdale’s commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer drafting or equivalent plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Tekla, AutoCAD, or equivalent software programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of detail drawings that comply with job specifications, design criteria, Hillsdale standards and applicable Code requirements.
  • Preparation of erection drawings and/or marking plans required for the project.
  • Preparation of material list requisitions.
  • Coordinates with third party detailing and engineering firms.
  • Coordinates with other trades as it relates to Hillsdale scope.
  • Reads and follows set schedules.
  • Participates in Project meetings, including, but not limited to kick-off meetings, closeout meetings and shop prep meetings.
  • Travels to Company and subsidiary offices; offsite client, subcontractor, and supplier meetings; and other locations across North America to fulfill the essential duties of the role as required.
  • Exhibits regular and reliable attendance in person as required by the Supervisor, Company guidelines, and/or project and office obligations.
