About The Position

Teph Seal Auto Appearance is hiring flat-rate detailers for its detail and reconditioning centers located in auto dealerships. The role involves driving, detailing, and cleaning vehicles while maintaining store facilities and delivering high-quality service. Detailers are expected to provide courteous, responsive service and help ensure customer satisfaction. The posting lists Detail Specialist 1 for candidates with some experience and Detail Specialist 2 for candidates with two or more years of experience.

The work involves washing vehicle exteriors; waxing and buffing; vacuuming interiors; cleaning upholstery and other surfaces; drying surfaces with air compressors and cloths; and applying preservation chemicals. Detailers may also use dyes, paints, and waxes to protect vehicle materials and clean grease from engines or engine compartments. Additional duties may be assigned by management to meet operational needs.

This is physically demanding work involving frequent bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and repeatedly entering and exiting vehicles. Work may take place outdoors in varying weather, and employees will move numerous vehicles throughout the day. The role requires attention to small imperfections, quality inspection of one’s own work and teammates’ work, safe use of approved cleaning products, adherence to uniform and grooming standards, and a sense of urgency in serving customers. Compensation is flat rate.

Requirements

• A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual-transmission vehicles.
• Ability to learn quickly and work as part of a team.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Desire to treat customers’ personal vehicles with care and respect.
• Willingness to arrive on time and stay on task during the shift.
• Ability to work Saturdays or Sundays and holidays when production needs require it.
• Successful completion of drug and background screening as a condition of employment.
• Detail Specialist 1: some experience; Detail Specialist 2: two or more years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Wash vehicle exteriors using cleaning solutions.
• Wax and buff vehicles using cloths and buffing machines as needed.
• Vacuum vehicle interiors and clean upholstery and surfaces.
• Dry surfaces with air compressors and cloths and apply preservation chemicals.
• Use dyes, paints, and waxes to protect vehicle leather or fabric when required.
• Clean grease from engines or engine compartments when required.
• Drive, detail, and clean vehicles, and move vehicles during the workday.
• Maintain store facilities to support high-quality service.
• Provide courteous customer service and respond to customer inquiries or complaints in a timely manner.
• Inspect the quality of personal work and that of other team members.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by management to meet operational needs.
• Follow safe handling practices for cleaning products and comply with uniform and grooming standards.
