About The Position

Nooter/Eriksen Inc. is seeking a Detailer to join our Drafting Team and focus on industrial piping. This role is part of a team that is responsible for creating 2D and 3D detail and general arrangement drawings. This position is located in Fenton, MO. The expectation is that this will be a hybrid position depending on business needs. Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience requiring advanced knowledge of drafting and modeling skills, both in 2D and 3D design with experience in the creation of engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience troubleshooting software and layout difficulties while advising other/inexperienced employees.
  • Working knowledge of AISC, and other international standard structural shapes, AWS weld symbols, and work instructions and how to apply that knowledge to custom designed equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Bentley MicroStation / Autodesk AutoCAD platforms, Microsoft Windows, and standard Office Suite applications.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Good teammate and can adapt to ever-evolving project and procedural changes.
  • Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, Technical or Vocational education preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

  • Compiling necessary design and layout information into engineering drawings that serve N/E suppliers in creating fabrication drawings.
  • Creating fabrication/field construction drawings.
  • Planning, preparing, and checking detailed drawings of HRSG components using information from multiple sources.
  • Entering HRSG casing and coil design information into a database‑exchange XML format to support the creation of fabrication drawings.
  • Training new employees to follow N/E guidelines and standards, and guiding them on where to find project‑specific data to incorporate into engineering drawings.
  • Coordinating with the Layout Design Coordinator to assure the timely completion of efficient, custom‑designed equipment.
  • Ensuring all internal departments, external customers, and fabrication subcontractors have the most current design information by using the company document‑management system and other necessary tools.
  • Documenting status of assigned project deliverables through routine updates of project status report and company schedule.
