About The Position

Maverick Car Company is seeking a Detail Manager to lead the day-to-day detailing operations for both their reconditioning department and retail service clients. This role is crucial for protecting the company's reputation by ensuring every vehicle meets Maverick's high standards before reaching the customer or the front line. The Detail Manager will be a hands-on working manager, responsible for actual detailing, quality control, department organization, and daily workflow coordination. While not a large team leadership role currently, the ideal candidate will have experience training others, setting standards, and contributing to future department growth as volume increases. This position works closely with the General Service Manager to maintain timing, priorities, and overall department efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven automotive detailing experience (required)
  • Strong eye for detail and high personal standards for quality
  • Strong communication, follow-up, and accountability
  • Ability to manage workflow and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-first mindset with a proactive attitude
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to operate a variety of vehicles
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Experience training, mentoring, or helping develop others preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-level interior and exterior detailing on assigned vehicles.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet Maverick cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Complete final quality control inspections before vehicle release.
  • Maintain consistency in interior, exterior, engine bay, and final presentation standards.
  • Identify and correct quality issues before vehicles move forward.
  • Protect first-pass quality and minimize rework.
  • Manage daily detail workflow based on recon and retail priorities.
  • Coordinate closely with the General Service Manager on vehicle readiness and completion timing.
  • Support recon and retail teams by maintaining strong turnaround times.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient detail bays and work areas.
  • Help improve workflow efficiency and department processes over time.
  • Maintain awareness of detailing supply levels and communicate department needs to the General Service Manager.
  • Support secondarily with other recon department needs including vehicle movement, porting, and detail-related operational support when needed.
  • Help train, coach, and set expectations for future team growth as volume expands.
