About The Position

The Detail Lead is responsible for safely and efficiently operating detail machines while providing day-to-day guidance and support to machine operators. This position serves as a lead resource for machine operation, production quality, troubleshooting, material handling, and workflow. The Detail Lead helps ensure production goals are met while maintaining company safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered and trained as necessary.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience operating CNC machines and/or plasma and oxy-fuel cutting equipment preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
  • Experience using hand measurement tools preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide direction and assistance to other employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and make appropriate adjustments to equipment and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating CNC machines and/or plasma and oxy-fuel cutting equipment
  • Experience using hand measurement tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide day-to-day guidance to Machine Operators to support safe, efficient, and productive operations.
  • Operate CNC machines, plasma, and oxy-fuel cutting equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, cut lists, and work instructions to accurately produce required parts.
  • Monitor CNC machines and cutting operations to ensure equipment is operating safely and at maximum performance.
  • Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain production efficiency, dimensional accuracy, and product quality.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report machine malfunctions, equipment issues, and quality concerns.
  • Assist operators with machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and proper work procedures.
  • Help coordinate the flow of material and work to maintain production schedules and priorities.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts in accordance with company procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Bring in, stage, and remove steel parts and materials of various sizes, thicknesses, and shapes.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure parts meet blueprint, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain safe operation of all machinery and equipment by following company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance activities as required.
  • Complete production, quality, maintenance, and other required logs accurately and timely.
  • Communicate production, quality, equipment, and safety issues to appropriate leadership.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new machine operators and reinforce proper operating and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
