About The Position

The Night Shift Lead supports daily production activities and provides hands-on direction to employees who operate equipment and process recyclable materials, including metal, glass, plastic, paper, and cardboard. This position helps maintain safe, efficient operations while supporting production and quality goals.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent business experience required

Nice To Haves

Previous lead experience in a fast-paced recycling, manufacturing, or production environment
Excellent mechanical ability and strong analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to follow procedure and work from a set of written instructions
Ability to work in a plant processing environment for extended periods of time
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Flexibility required to work successfully on a team
Active individual who will be comfortable spending most of the day walking
Basic computer skills
Good time management and multi-tasking ability
Must speak and understand English; Spanish spoken and written fluency is a plus

Responsibilities

Promote compliance with all company safety, health, environmental, and operational policies.
Provide day-to-day guidance and work direction to night-shift employees.
Assign tasks based on production needs and demonstrate safe, efficient work practices.
Monitor sorting, equipment operation, processing, and baling activities.
Inspect equipment and report maintenance or operational concerns.
Support improvements to workflow, productivity, and material quality.
Enter production information and assist with time, attendance, and production reports.
Provide hands-on support across operational areas as needed.
Lead by example and help maintain a positive, accountable work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
