This position will be responsible for development of the graphic design with different platforms (AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, etc) as well as managing the site files in a document repository platform (Vault)

Requirements

  • Completion of a 2-3 year college program in engineering design and drafting technology or in a related field is usually required for drafting and design technologists
  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
  • Practices high level of facilitations skills to reach consensus and works toward solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, update, and revise GMP drawings (floor plans, piping layouts, equipment drawings) in collaboration with engineering.
  • Update drawings as part of Engineering Change Requests (ECR/ECO).
  • Produce sketches for minor plant modifications, utility rerouting, equipment relocations, etc.
  • Conduct site surveys and field verification to keep as built drawings accurate.
  • Compare contractor drawings to plant standards and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support creation and updates of documents such as: P&Ids, PFDs, Process equipment layouts, Utility distribution drawings (HVAC, purified water, steam, clean air, nitrogen)
  • Assist in drafting layouts for: Cleanrooms, HVAC zoning, Pressure differentials, Personnel/material flows (to support contamination control)
  • Participate in site walks to understand constraints and verify installations. Provide updated drawings for construction teams.
  • Create or update Revit/Plant 3D models for: Clean utilities, Black utilities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), Cable trays, supports, platforms
  • Run clash detection sessions (Navisworks or Plant 3D). Coordinate clash resolution with engineering and contractors.
  • Maintain plant CAD/BIM standards (layers, families, legends, title blocks) and ensure consistent use of symbols and annotation styles across disciplines.
  • Ensure drawings are properly categorized, archived, and controlled, and serve as the local Administrator for Vault and Docs, including system configuration, user access, and training to support compliant and reliable project documentation.
  • Provide updated drawings during: FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ activities, System turnover packages
  • Integrate vendor drawings and 3D models into the facility’s master model. Verify dimensional accuracy before equipment installation.
  • Act as the local BIM/CAD Coordinator for renovation projects, managing multidisciplinary models, ensuring accurate integration, clash resolution, and adherence to BIM workflows.
  • Maintain and evolve local CAD/BIM standards and workflows, ensuring alignment with corporate practices, supporting the transition from CAD to BIM, and contributing to long‑term continuity by documenting processes and standardizing best practices.
  • Support the long‑term stability of CAD/BIM operations by contributing to knowledge transfer, process improvement, and continuity planning as the organization transitions to more BIM‑centric capabilities.
