This role requires an expert-level understanding of hardware and software, with demonstrated expertise and proficiency in diagnosing complex problems with computer hardware and software and applying solutions. The position involves dealing with anti-virus, anti-spam, wireless communication, mobile devices, and security in the information technology field. Experience in handling and liaising with multiple vendors, partners, and teams is essential. The role requires solid knowledge of data communication and networking internet protocols, such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Serial interface standards, Change Management, and Active Directory. Familiarity with JAMF, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune, and FileVault Disk Encryption is also necessary. The individual will interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client-server environment, ensuring seamless interconnection of desktop computers with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems. A strong ability to quickly and independently master new technology, then provide support and consultation on its usage, is crucial. The role demands a strong customer service orientation, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and the capacity to multi-task. Collaboration with laboratory technicians for software installation and maintenance is expected. Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) are required due to daily interaction with faculty, administrators, and staff. Exceptional documentation skills are also a key requirement. Fluency in both English and the local language is necessary.
