About The Position

The Desktop Support Specialist for PCL Construction Services, Inc. within US Head Office contributes to the team by resolving user-reported problems using available tools and following procedures and policies for handling support cases. This role involves district jobsite setup and turndown, including remote support, and delivering technical training and other knowledge resources. The specialist will also administer and monitor district office and construction site server resources and technology solutions to ensure optimal operation, and respond to issues. Accurate and timely logging of problems and resolutions in a problem-management database is crucial, as is providing implementation support on corporate and regional initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in computer technology or a related discipline.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize own work.
  • Results-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Co-op/internship or relevant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of change management methodologies an asset.
