About The Position

Long View is seeking an upbeat and proactive Deskside Consultant for their Edmonton branch to support clients on-site. This role involves leveraging technical skills to provide excellent customer experiences while fostering career growth. The successful candidate will be required to travel between multiple sites across Edmonton, making a valid driver's license and reliable transportation recommended.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of IT support experience, including experience supporting a Microsoft environment in a Service Desk or Desktop Support Role.
  • Knowledge of server operations, infrastructure, web interfaces, remote access tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office O365.
  • Experience with remote support.
  • Experience with PC / printer hardware / VPN / Citrix.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Ability to identify issues, escalate appropriately, and work to resolve them.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve incidents associated with application software and operating systems, determining the source of issues and classifying their urgency, impact, and nature.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support computer workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, and other computer and telecommunications equipment.
  • Install and support PC, laptop, tablet, and mobile hardware and software.
  • Image workstations using Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager and deploy workstations.
  • Identify and effectively communicate recurring issues and trends, assisting with creating efficiencies and processes.
  • Participate in hardware and software reviews and recommend purchases with team members.
  • Maintain inventory of installed software, manage software licensing, and create policies and procedures for upgrades.
  • Work with hardware and software vendors to assist in remediation of incidents, verify timely product delivery, and ensure new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to end-user experience and devices.
  • Travel to different client locations in and around Edmonton as required by client needs.
