About The Position

This is a part-time position with a rotating primary shift of 3 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. The role is within the Taylor Emergency Center, a 22-bed facility that also serves as a Level IV Trauma Center. The Emergency Center serves a diverse patient population from Oakland, Monroe, and Wayne County. The unit operates under a Servant Leadership model, prioritizing respect, dignity, and treating others as one would want to be treated. The Taylor EC features self-scheduling, an engaged staff empowered to make changes, and values strong collaboration with providers and ancillary departments. Taylor Hospital is a Magnet-designated hospital, serving the area since 1977, offering various specialty services including 24-hour emergency care, wound care, a surgical pavilion, pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility, and full-service radiology.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent, required
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Familiarity with computer keyboard, required

Responsibilities

• Under direction of licensed nursing staff, provides general clerical duties, reception duties and requisition of supplies, equipment, and coordinates with other departments for unit efficiency.
• Assists in maintaining the general function of the nursing unit.
• Answers call lights and forwards requests to appropriate team members.
• Schedules follow-up physician appointments for patients upon discharge.
• Assembles, disassembles, and maintains patient medical record per unit standard.
• Maintains competency and knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), including ongoing updates.
