About The Position

Dreamwear is hiring a Designer for its Contemporary Sleepwear team, supporting either Danskin or Nicole Miller. The Design team establishes seasonal and customer-driven trend, color, print, and style direction, develops product concepts and apparel designs, and presents them in internal reviews and buyer meetings. After orders are placed, Design maintains the creative vision in partnership with Product Development, Sales, Graphics, and overseas teams through sample development and production. The Designer will work closely with senior Design leadership, take ownership of assigned projects, and support more junior team members. The role combines fashion design and product-development work with technical and organizational responsibilities, including research, concept development, presentations, fittings, technical and production packages, and coordination with cross-functional partners and overseas factories. The Designer may manage a direct report and must be willing and available to travel overseas when necessary.

Requirements

4–6 years of relevant experience in fashion, apparel, or intimate apparel design.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong design sensibility and understanding of color, print, trend, and commercial product development.
Excellent communication, follow-up, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strong organizational and project-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Positive, collaborative attitude and strong team-player mentality.
Passion for fashion and ability to balance creativity with commercial and customer needs.
Willingness and availability to travel overseas when necessary.

Responsibilities

Research the market and emerging trends, collaborating with senior designers on seasonal color forecasting, print concepts, and product direction.
Develop and present design ideas and concepts to the Senior Designer and Director.
Participate in design meetings, trend presentations, proto reviews, line reviews, and other key milestone meetings.
Attend fittings and provide design-related comments and direction.
Prepare presentations and visual materials for internal and external meetings.
Build working relationships with Sales, Product Development, and Graphics through proactive communication and problem-solving.
Create CADs and assist in selecting colors, prints, patterns, and other design elements for seasonal and customer presentations.
Develop color palettes, flat sketches, and detailed product concepts.
Review and approve print and graphic strike-offs to ensure alignment with the intended design direction.
Oversee completion of accurate technical development packages, including construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, prints, graphics, and color specifications.
Oversee accurate production packages, including color and trim specifications and production-ready print and graphic artwork.
Communicate with overseas factories regarding product development, production, costing, and design execution.
Track projects and follow up with cross-functional and overseas partners to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
Delegate and prioritize work for Associates, Assistants, and Interns based on business needs and project timelines.
May manage a direct report, including providing ongoing feedback, evaluating performance, and supporting professional development.
