Requirements

5+ years of design experience.
Knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable codes and standards, and established design practices used in the planning and development of projects.
Skills in using engineering design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, etc.) to develop, modify, and coordinate engineering designs, drawings, and technical deliverables.
Ability to analyze data, apply design criteria, and use standard office and engineering software to produce accurate design documentation and support project completion.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of AT&T’s OPTI prints is a plus.
Understanding of AT&T’s BST CAD prints is a plus.
Experience in reading / understanding civil plans is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support Project Managers and Project Engineers with design tasks, demonstrating increased independence in executing assigned work.
Utilize engineering and drafting software to develop plan, profile, cross-section, and utility drawings aligned with project requirements.
Interpret survey data, utility records, specifications, and engineering plans to develop and refine design base files.
Translate design concepts, sketches, and engineering direction into coordinated construction drawings.
Incorporate redlines and review comments and recognize recurring design standards.
Perform basic engineering calculations, including elevations, grades, utility design elements, and quantities.
Identify potential design conflicts, discrepancies, or constructability concerns and elevate or assist in resolution.
Support collection of field data or utility record information if applicable.
Apply Company QA/QC processes and procedures in the preparation of design deliverables.
Perform self-checks on drawings and data for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
Maintain organized and accurate project files and documentation.
Work with supervisor, Project Manager, and various internal personnel to complete assignments within discipline.
Coordinate with project teams, including Engineers, designers, and other disciplines, to support design integration.
Learn and apply company drafting standards, workflows, and design tools.
Participate in training, learning and advancement opportunities, may assist with the development of others in a mentorship role and/or developing tools and resources.
Deliver accurate, timely, and coordinated design work that supports project schedules and objectives.
Apply client standards and project requirements with growing consistency and understanding.
Design placement of new cable Fiber and Copper.
Design the relocation of cables, manholes, handholes, etc.
Approved design access to the AT&T’s Aramis system required.
Understanding of AT&T’s OPTI prints is a plus.
Understanding of AT&T’s BST CAD prints is a plus.
Experience in reading / understanding civil plans is a plus.
Perform site visits, fielding, and assist with permitting as needed.
Meetings with Clients and in agencies i.e. City, State, County, Department of Transportation.
Perform independent research and adapt to changing priorities.
