This is a fully remote position; however, candidates located within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) are preferred, as occasional in-person meetings, training sessions, and team-building events may take place at mutually convenient locations throughout the GTA.

Requirements

  • Must have an undergraduate Electrical Engineering degree or Technologist Diploma from an accredited university or College.
  • Possess solid time management skills.
  • Under general supervision; ability to exercise judgment; receives clear instructions from supervisor on what to do and how to do it.
  • Ordinary/common courtesy

Nice To Haves

  • Registered, or in training, to be a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist is an asset, but not required.
  • Previous EHT design experience is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering design and analysis within assigned project scope of work. This includes circuit loading, functional evaluations, layouts, and engineering drawings. Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control for the engineering scope of work.
  • Using advanced software such as NavisWorks, Smart Plant, AutoCAD and our in-house programs TRACERLYNX and PROMAN to optimize our design process.
  • Performing various engineering and circuit design tasks within our innovative paperless workflow process.
  • Proactively establish customer relationships at appropriate levels and manage client expectations relative to technical execution methodologies, scope, schedule, progress, and technical change management. Impact to the work in own department and occasionally to other areas and functions.
  • Identify and communicate proposed solutions to any emerging issues which are likely to impact cost, schedule, quality/design integrity, safety, or interface with construction.
  • Develops resolution of problems of limited scope following standard procedures.
  • Contributing toward the team environment and shared culture of Chemelex.
  • Basic knowledge of standard processes and systems.
  • Frequently expected to choose the most appropriate solution.
  • Basic understanding of customer priorities.
