This role supports product innovation for Thirdlove, ideating new concepts and translating them into breakthrough fit, construction and material solutions that set new standards for how intimate apparel looks, feels, and performs. As Designer - Innovation and Product Development, success means originating and developing new construction methods, fabrications and technical solutions from concept sketch through prototype iteration to final production handoff that solve real fit and comfort challenges for our customers. This role sits at the intersection of design and product development, partnering closely with technical, sourcing and production to ensure every innovative idea is both beautifully realized and commercially viable. By pioneering new product and construction possibilities, this role gives Thirdlove a distinct competitive edge in fit, comfort and product performance.

Requirements

  • Translate initial sketches into precise technical flats and design sheets.
  • Maintain up-to-date Bills of Materials (BOMs) and line sheets in the PLM system.
  • Partner closely with the Technical Design team during product reviews and fittings.
  • Guide garments from initial prototype to production approved sample.
  • Achieve intended fit, construction and material execution.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with vendors and factory partners.
  • Troubleshoot issues and drive samples to on time delivery.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis.
  • Translate seasonal themes into mood boards and color palettes.
  • Partner with the Merchandising team to strategically define product assortments.
  • Own the maintenance of color charts, print development and final color approvals.
  • Effectively communicate seasonal themes and present innovative product concepts to cross-functional partners.
  • Create and present elevated design assets.
  • Lead the final product handoff to the Creative and Marketing teams.
  • Provide crucial alignment on key design features, innovation highlights, material details and color accuracy for all creative and digital assets.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design and pioneer intimate apparel collections, taking ownership of high impact innovation styles.
  • Own the development process by translating initial sketches into precise technical flats and design sheets, while maintaining up-to-date Bills of Materials (BOMs) and line sheets in the PLM system.
  • Partner closely with the Technical Design team during product reviews and fittings to guide garments from initial prototype to production approved sample that achieves intended fit, construction and material execution.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with vendors and factory partners throughout development to troubleshoot issues and drive samples to on time delivery.
  • Create end-to-end seasonal concept and color direction. This includes conducting comprehensive market analysis, translating seasonal themes into mood boards and color palettes, partnering with the Merchandising team to strategically define product assortments and owning the maintenance of color charts, print development and final color approvals.
  • Effectively communicate seasonal themes and present innovative product concepts to cross-functional partners through the creation and presentation of elevated design assets.
  • Lead the final product handoff to the Creative and Marketing teams, providing crucial alignment on key design features, innovation highlights, material details and color accuracy for all creative and digital assets.
