As a Designer Lead, you will guide a team of design personnel to support operations, maintenance, and capital projects of various sizes. Your primary focus will be to mentor and support others while reporting progress to your formal leader, project teams, and other departments as required. A successful candidate will be proficient with current CAD software and have the ability to demonstrate project planning, resource allocation, teamwork and evaluation skills. A Designer Lead / Electrical Designer at Williams starts the day by reviewing project priorities, coordinating with engineers and project teams, and assigning work to design personnel. The role involves creating and reviewing a wide range of electrical design deliverables, including one-line diagrams, grounding plans, electrical plans, MCC schematics, conduit and cable schedules, and equipment connection drawings for mission-critical data centers. They ensure all drawings meet applicable codes, company standards, and project requirements while supporting projects from concept through construction and as-built completion. A successful day includes balancing technical design work with leadership responsibilities—solving problems, improving work processes, supporting design reviews, and ensuring accurate, high-quality deliverables are issued on time. Your work will challenge you, and with our Core Values to guide you, you’ll quickly learn and grow with us.
