About The Position

At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Reporting to a Senior Manager and in close collaboration with the directing team, you will actively participate in the production of video content for the french news sector at CBC/Radio-Canada. As a motion designer, you will be responsible for designing and animating graphics that will be included in environment-related news video content. You must make creative, innovative suggestions so that the elements produced are aligned with editorial content, follow the project’s style guide and are tailored to the delivery platforms (web, social media and television) and target audience, while respecting our Journalistic Standards and Practices. You will be in charge of developing, planning and creating the graphic design for content. You will work on a daily basis with reporters and producers, and attend brainstorming sessions with the whole team. Essential qualities for this position include creativity, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, in-depth knowledge of all platforms, strong proficiency with graphic design and animation software as well as experience producing multiplatform content. This position requires full-time on-site presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or interactive multimedia design.
  • Three or more years’ experience creating and producing animations for digital media.
  • Proficient knowledge of graphic design, animation and video editing software (Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro and/or Premiere).
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written French.
  • Ability to work well under pressure for extended periods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
  • Presentation of a digital portfolio is mandatory.
  • Practical test aimed at assessing animation skills and abilities in the context of producing an editorial video.
  • Interview.
  • Questions on current events will be asked.
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
  • Background check, including a mandatory Criminal record check.
