About The Position

This role involves contributing to the success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design. The Designer II assists in generating creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions as an integral member of the design team. They generate drawings under supervision for schematic design, design development, and construction documents, and perform product research and assist with material selections. The position requires exercising critical and creative judgment in preparing client presentation materials, completing tasks within scope, schedule, and budget, and self-checking work for accuracy and compliance. The role encourages curiosity about design and the industry, taking increasing ownership of tasks, participating in design reviews, and maintaining open communication within the team and with the team leader. The Designer II should communicate ideas in an inspiring way and coordinate effectively with partners and consultants. Obtaining an architectural license will result in a title change to Architect II, but does not automatically predicate the title to Project Architect. Advancement to subsequent positions is contingent upon fulfilling the requirements of that role.

• Preparing for ARE and active involvement in AXP

• Uses a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way.
• Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
• Expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
• Takes increasing ownership of tasks within project teams and studio activities.
• Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
• Keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader.
• Communicates ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.
• Coordinates effectively with partners and consultants.
