Design work incorporates safety, operability, maintainability, and constructability, and the designer is responsible for the quality of work and continuous improvement. The position involves creating 2D and 3D designs and construction drawings, modeling complex piping systems from P&IDs, conducting field walk-downs, producing isometric drawings and bills of material, and coordinating piping and structural models with engineers and other project participants. The Designer II also supports project planning and execution by estimating and monitoring design hours and schedules, reviewing others’ work, communicating progress, participating in project and model reviews, and managing drawing revisions. The role may include mentoring other designers and drafters and coordinating with third-party designers and customers. An associate or technical degree is required; a bachelor’s or technical degree is preferred. The posting requests 5–10 years of applicable piping experience, with design experience preferred. Travel may be required up to 10% depending on project details. A current, valid driver’s license without restrictions is required. The position may require a proficiency test during the interview process.
