About The Position

Saber Power Services is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, the company serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad, using an engineering-led approach to design, install, test, and maintain medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. The Designer II role is suited to someone with CAD training who wants to grow in the high-voltage industry and demonstrates initiative, technical ability, and a strong work ethic. The CAD Designer creates drawings using CAD software. The position is based in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Requirements

Training in AutoCAD 2D drafting.
Willingness to learn and grow into advanced CAD responsibilities.
Strong computer skills and technical aptitude.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Highly motivated and a self-starter.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must be local to Alexandria, Louisiana.

Responsibilities

Use CAD software to produce shop and erection drawings, plans, and bills of material based on project and equipment specifications, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Read and interpret equipment specifications and details.
Communicate and coordinate with engineers and senior designers to clarify design intent.
Ensure drawings and plans adhere to company and industry standards and guidelines.
Create and issue revisions and maintain version control.
Collaborate with project teams to complete drawings and plans accurately and on time.
Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews.
Issue submittal packages.
Maintain organized and up-to-date project files and records.
Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
